The Farewell Messages of Jesus
Farewells are difficult, with or without warning. These eight chapters of John are dedicated to the last days of Jesus' earthly life: his betrayal, trials, crucifixion and resurrection. You may be surprised, and you will be encouraged, by this exploration into how much time Jesus put into preparing his friends for his death. David Mulready's 40 studies, spread across six weeks, are perfect as preparation for Lent by an individual, small group or church, or at any other time of the year as a reminder of how much Jesus cares for his people.
David Mulready was ordained as an Anglican minister in 1971 after studying at Moore College. He married Maureen in 1972 and they began a long partnership in ministry in churches in Sydney and the Armidale Diocese, and then with the Bush Church Aid Society. They moved to the Diocese of North West Australia from 2004 to 2011, where David served as the bishop.In 2020 they moved near Lake Macquarie and joined the Anglican fellowship at All Saints ANeW, where they are keen to continue serving the Lord in retirement. David enjoys playing Scrabble with Maureen, gardening, table tennis and reading. He has written five previous Lenten study books.
What is Lent?
Lent is the 40 days leading up to Easter. During this time we prepare our hearts for Easter by looking to Jesus and his death on the cross.
